Submit your request for access through the link on the Getting Started page. Our Westlaw administrator will add you to our subscription.
You will receive a registration email from Thomson Reuters:
Click "Register" to continue setup.
Next, enter your name as the "Custom Label", followed by your @sju.edu email address:
Continue by filling out the user account registration boxes that appear.
Please use your @sju.edu email address for registration.
Create a username and password that you will use to access the database.
You can access Westlaw if you have completed the user registration steps shown in Getting Started and Account Setup and Access.
Please visit the database and use your Westlaw login credentials to sign into your account.
Client ID
Westlaw will ask you provide a Client ID for each login sessions.
Our version of Westlaw is also used by paralegals who might be conducting research on behalf of a client. Here they would enter those billable details.
For us, entering the date or a project name is sufficient. Your work is private so these identifiers are for your use. Each time you log in you can choose this same Client ID.
