Journal titles are abbreviated in AMA style using National Library of Medicine abbreviations. Search the NLM Catalog to find abbreviations for the journals you want to cite. Chapter 13 of the AMA Style Guide has guidelines on writing abbreviations in the event that a journal is not in the NLM catalog. Please be aware that if a journal is NOT in the catalog you will want to take a close look at the journal in question, it may be that it is not an authoritative source and/or is a predatory journal.
