Why Use Introductory Resources?

Reference works such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, directories, and wikis are generally not thorough enough to provide you with the detailed information that you need from a resource. However, they can provide useful background informationIf you have a topic in mind for your research, it's a good idea to find one or more sources of background information to read before you begin your research. Introductory resources explain in general terms what 's currently known about your topic and help you understand the broader context of your research.
