Create Readings Lists in Canvas

Organize or Change Readings

By clicking "See Current Reading List," you will see the options for organizing, removing, or changing readings on the list. 

  1. This row of options allow you to get back to the search box to look for more readings, to copy over a previous reading list you've already created, or to make your list public or private.  If you make it public, it will be available to other course instructors at SJU.
  2. This is where you can create folders for organizing your readings.  You might organize them by class week, or topic.
  3. You can add links to any website using this Add Web Resource option.
  4. Here is where you can add individual readings to a folder, or delete a reading.  To see what is in a particular folder, click on the folder name.



Want to see how the reading lists appear to your students?  Click "Student View" on the course home page and navigate to the reading list.

Don't forget that you'll need to publish the module and the list in order for students to see it in your Canvas course.  Look for the green check marks!
