Before you search

Go straight to the Advanced Search page, and then be sure and specify if you're searching:

  • As a keyword (will retrieve anything with that word anywhere in the record)
  • As a Name of Work (will retrieve materials discussing a particular title)
  • As a Person - By or About (will retrieve materials on a given author)
  • As an Abstract keyword (will retrieve items with your term in the abstract)

After you search

Note that the different tabs within the results list offers different kinds of information:

  1. Literature Criticism - scholarly criticism on the works or writers relevant to your search
  2. Biographies - biographical information on the writers of your search
  3. Topic & Work Overviews - introductory information on the work or writer of your search
  4. Reviews & News - newspaper and magazine reviews of works or writers of your search
