HIS 150: First Year Seminar

Call numbers

Call numbers tell you where a book is shelved in the Library. In Drexel Library, we use the Library of Congress (LC) Classification scheme which groups titles by subject matter.  This classification system is a great way to group books together, but it is not always intuitive to the searcher.  If you can not locate a book on the shelf, please ask a library staff member for help rather than leaving without the material you need.  Even if we can't locate the particular title you wanted, we can probably find another just as useful.

Library Catalog -- Searching for a Particular Title/Author

Books Library Catalog Search
  • The Library Catalog is best used when searching for a specific title or author.
  • You can search across additional fields such as ISBN or Call Number etc.
  • You can also search for specific "subjects" as defined by the Library of Congress
Use this catalog if you need to capture a permanent link to the record for a resource.
