First-Generation College Students

What does that mean?

SJU Office of Student Transitions

Adjusting to college is a big transition!  For students first-in-the-family to attend college, the transition is more challenging.   As a trailblazer, you may be on your own to develop study strategies and negotiate the freedom that University life offers.  We are here to help you successfully navigate your adjustment to college life and assist you throughout your years on Hawk Hill to make the most of your college experience.  The Office of Student Transitions located in The Perch (nearest to the Commuter Lounge) is here to help you engage at Saint Joseph's University and to connect to campus resources including advisors.  We can answer all of your questions!  Student Transitions also offers specific resources and programming for commuter and transfer students, and the first year experience program.

SJU Office of Inclusion and Diversity

The Center for Inclusion and Diversity promotes an institutional climate in which all members of the community understand their value and feel welcomed and respected. The Center also serves as a social justice education, advocacy and action hub for the university.
