ORCID and SciENcv

What are ORCID and SciENcv?

ORCID (Open Research and Contributors ID) and SciENcv (Science Experts Network Curriculum Vitae) are online tools that assist researchers in preparing their biographical sketches and lists of their publications and other accomplishments. Researchers who use them save time by not entering the same information over and over again when preparing grant applications and other documents.

Do I need to use ORCID and SciENcv?

Some publishers and granting organizations require researchers to provide their ORCID iDs when submitting articles or proposals for funding.

The National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health require researchers to use SciENcv to create biosketches for applications.
